Our Christian Values are at the centre of everything we do at Holy Cross CE Primary School. They help us to live out our Christian Vision of, ‘With God all things are possible’. Each half term, we focus on a different Christian Value. This is done explicitly through our Collective Worship time, but also throughout our curriculum. Children have regular opportunities to reflect on each value and to develop an understanding of the Value in action. Each Friday, in our Share and Praise Worship, we acknowledge children who have demonstrated these values.

Father John from Holy Cross Church regularly leads our worship to help us to reinforce our understanding of each value as he shares stories from the Bible.

The Values we explore and strive to live by are:

  1. Courage

'Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go' Joshua 1:9.

  1. Forgiveness

‘Be compassionate and kind to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you’ Ephesians 4:32.

  1. Hope

‘Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see’ Hebrews 11:1.

  1. Service

‘Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you’ John 13:14-15.

  1. Love

'Love is more important than anything else. It's what ties everything completely together’ Colossians 3:14.

  1. Thankfulness

‘The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song’ Psalm 28:7.
